First Responders hold golf tournament to benefit Mississippi trooper Landon Murphy
The Mississippi Department of Public Safety thanked First Responders of MS for hosting a golf tournament to benefit Mississippi Highway Patrol Trooper Landon Murphy, the agency said in a Facebook post. More than 100 players participated in the event, the post said, demonstrating wide support from the first responder community.
The department said Murphy has been battling an illness for some time and that it is proud to stand beside him and his family during this period. The post expressed gratitude to organizers, participants and others who came together for the cause.
First Responders of MS is a group that organizes charitable and community events to support emergency personnel and their families. The Mississippi Department of Public Safety oversees state public safety functions, including the Mississippi Highway Patrol, which employs troopers such as Murphy.
The tournament underscores the role of local fundraising and peer support when first responders face serious personal challenges. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
