First Lady Elee Reeves readies Mississippi for United in Song celebration

America250 Mississippi announced on Facebook that First Lady Elee Reeves is helping prepare Mississippi’s signature America250 celebration, “United in Song,” set for June 20 at 6 p.m. at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson.

America250 is the national initiative marking the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. America250 Mississippi is the state arm coordinating events and programs to commemorate the milestone and highlight Mississippi’s history and culture.

The announcement describes the program as an opportunity to bring communities together through music. The Facebook post invites residents to attend what it calls an “unforgettable performance,” underscoring the role public events play in statewide participation in the America250 observance.
