Hinds County Sheriff’s Office wraps up citizens academy, readies graduation
JACKSON, Miss. — The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook that it wrapped up its Sheriff’s Citizens Academy last week and is preparing for a graduation ceremony tonight.
The post said participants took part in hands-on demonstrations, interactive sessions and candid discussions to gain a deeper understanding of how the sheriff’s office operates and the responsibilities involved in serving local communities.
The office thanked presenters for sharing expertise, HCSO staff for their professionalism, participants for engaging and strengthening ties with law enforcement, and sponsors whose support made the week possible, according to the Facebook post.
Citizens academies are common outreach programs used by law enforcement agencies to increase transparency, explain procedures and foster community relationships. The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office said the graduation will celebrate the class’s dedication and curiosity. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
