Reeves, first lady visit rehearsal for Mississippi’s America250 United in Song

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves and First Lady Elee Reeves visited a rehearsal for America250 Mississippi’s “United in Song” celebration scheduled for tonight, Reeves wrote on Facebook. The governor said he and the first lady dropped in to thank volunteers who helped prepare the event and encouraged residents to attend.

In his post, Reeves noted that tickets remain available through Ticketmaster. The Facebook message emphasized community involvement and volunteer support in bringing the state’s celebration to life.

America250 is the national program marking the 250th anniversary of the United States, and state-level events like Mississippi’s aim to highlight local contributions and civic participation. Organizers have used concerts and public programs to engage communities and commemorate the broader anniversary.

The governor’s appearance highlights the event’s prominence in Mississippi’s calendar, and volunteers’ efforts underscore the role of community organizers in staging large public commemorations. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
