Deputy Chief Rusty Rasberry visits Trent Lott Leadership Institute at Ole Miss

Deputy Chief Rusty Rasberry spent time this week with students at the Trent Lott Leadership Institute on the University of Mississippi campus, the Oxford Police Department said on Facebook.

The Trent Lott Leadership Institute is a campus program at Ole Miss that brings together students for leadership training and civic engagement. The institute is named for former U.S. Sen. Trent Lott and is known for hosting seminars and workshops intended to prepare students for roles in public service and community leadership.

Oxford Police Department officials said the deputy chief’s visit reflects ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to engage with young people and support leadership development in the community. Police participation in campus events can help build relationships between students and officers and familiarize future leaders with public-safety perspectives.

Oxford police said investing in the next generation of leaders is “time well spent.” We will provide more information as it becomes available.
