Covington County deputies seek help identifying two men

COVINGTON COUNTY — The Covington County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public to help identify two men seen in a photo as part of an ongoing investigation, officials said.

Investigators released the image on the department’s Facebook page and asked anyone who recognizes the men or has information that could assist the probe to call the sheriff’s department tip line at 601-641-4618.

Officials did not immediately release details about the case connected to the identification request, and they did not provide names or a suspected offense.

Law enforcement agencies often release photographs and requests for public assistance to generate leads when other investigative avenues are limited. Tips from the public can play a key role in identifying persons of interest and advancing investigations.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
