Captain Jason Jarvis wins Hattiesburg 100 Award

Captain Jason Jarvis received this year’s Hattiesburg 100 Award, organizers said in a Facebook post.

The award celebrates first responders from six local area agencies who go above and beyond in service to the community, the post said.

“Captain Jarvis represents that standard through his leadership, professionalism and commitment to the residents of Hattiesburg,” the post said. The announcement asked residents to join in congratulating Captain Jarvis on the recognition.

Hattiesburg is a city in southern Mississippi, and awards that honor first responders aim to recognize individuals whose work strengthens public safety and community trust. First responders — including firefighters, police officers and emergency medical personnel — often receive such honors for leadership, long service or notable actions that benefit local residents.

Details about the selection process, the other honorees or the presenting organization were not provided in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
