Bolton assistant chief wins Top Cop Award

Bolton Police Department Assistant Chief Ve’Nesha Blackmon has been awarded the Top Cop Award, the department said in a social media post. The post noted that Blackmon also serves as lieutenant for the Criminal Investigations Division of the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office.

Bolton is a town in Hinds County, Mississippi, and the recognition highlights a local law enforcement leader who holds roles at both the municipal and county levels. Top Cop awards generally recognize leadership, investigative work or community service within policing, and are often given to officers and supervisors who have demonstrated notable performance.

The department’s post included a message of appreciation: “Thanks for your service throughout all of Hinds County.” The social media message now appears to be unavailable on the platform. Facebook and other social networks typically display that notice when a post is shared with a limited audience, when privacy settings change or when a post is deleted.

Details about the award, including the presenting organization and criteria, were not provided in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
