19-year-old wanted after two men found fatally shot in Tunica County subdivision

TUNICA COUNTY, Miss. — A 19-year-old man is wanted for questioning after two Tunica men were found shot to death Sunday evening in a subdivision, the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies received a 911 call about 7:37 p.m. Sunday, May 24, reporting that someone had struck a tree and appeared unresponsive in the White Oak subdivision, the sheriff’s office said. When deputies arrived, both people had been shot. The victims were identified as 42-year-old Taurean Martez Thomas and 33-year-old David Brown III, both of Tunica. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene by the Tunica County coroner.

The sheriff’s office said it is seeking 19-year-old Jadarius Antwan Douglas of Tunica for questioning in the double homicide. Investigators have obtained warrants in connection with additional alleged crimes. The sheriff’s office said the warrants include two counts of kidnapping, armed robbery, simple assault and shooting into a motor vehicle. Officials said it has not been confirmed whether those crimes are related to the double-homicide investigation.

Information may qualify for a cash reward of up to $2,000, and information leading to Douglas’ arrest may qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
