STARKVILLE, Mississippi — Officers with the Starkville Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at Chandler Park Apartments, 309 Reed Road, on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 11:46 p.m., and found a 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound, the department said in a news release posted on Facebook.
The victim was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital–Oktibbeha and was later released, the release said. Authorities said the people involved knew each other and that the shooting followed a physical altercation.
On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 8:59 a.m., officers arrested Kameron Coffey, 17, at Chandler Park Apartments and charged him with aggravated assault, the department said. The Starkville Police Department said the incident remains under investigation.
