Mississippi health agency urges families to review emergency plans

The Mississippi State Department of Health is urging families to create or review emergency plans during National Preparedness Month, emphasizing the importance of knowing what to do before an emergency occurs.

The agency recommends deciding where family members will meet if they become separated and making sure everyone knows how to contact one another. Families should also identify evacuation routes and destinations, include pets in their plans and keep important information in a place everyone can access.
