UMMC earns NIH designation for physician-scientist training program

The University of Mississippi Medical Center has earned the National Institutes of Health’s Medical Scientist Training Program designation, a federal recognition of the strength of its physician-scientist training program.

The designation is intended to help prepare physicians who can turn questions arising from patient care into scientific discoveries that could improve health in Mississippi and beyond.
