Landers Auto Group and the Southaven Chamber of Commerce are hosting a First Responder Appreciation Lunch for DeSoto County’s first responders at Landers Center.
The lunch is scheduled for today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Families are invited to attend the community celebration honoring people who protect and serve the area.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
