NEMCC workforce programs serve more than 220 people with industry support
More than 220 people have begun developing skills for high-demand careers through Northeast Mississippi Community College Workforce Training programs, including pathways to opportunities with Northrop Grumman that can pay $21 to $25 an hour, according to the college.
Northrop Grumman has invested $60,000, along with more than $375,000 in tools and equipment, to help Northeast build a state-of-the-art training environment. The college is also expanding its capabilities through a $2.09 million AccelerateMS grant for a new Advanced Composites Lab.
Northeast Mississippi Community College said the effort’s focus extends beyond equipment and facilities to the people participating in the programs. The college described outcomes that include parents finding better careers, recent graduates finding a path forward, workers receiving a second chance and families gaining new financial stability.
