Rebecca Elliott named Northeast Way Award recipient

Rebecca Elliott has been named this month’s Northeast Way Award recipient by Northeast Mississippi Community College.

The award recognizes employees who go above and beyond to support students and create a positive, caring experience at Northeast.

A student said Elliott took extra time to make sure the student understood course material, including going over it again when needed. “She went out of her way to make sure I understood the material she covered, even if it meant she had to set time aside to go over that material again.”

The student also said Elliott is available to answer questions or concerns by message day or night. “You can message her day or night and she will get back with you and answer any questions or concerns you have.”

Another description of Elliott in the recognition said, “She is a wonderful teacher and has a heart of gold.” The college’s post also invited people to nominate someone for the Northeast Way Award through an online form.
