Adult Education & Family Literacy Week is highlighting students, educators, programs and partners involved in adult education across Mississippi, according to Northeast Mississippi Community College’s Adult Education program.
The program said adult education supports people pursuing a high school equivalency, building workforce skills, preparing for college and creating new career opportunities. It also said those efforts strengthen communities throughout the state.

The college encouraged viewers to watch a video about the impact of adult education across Mississippi.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
