Jackson Public Schools apologizes after accidental Facebook post
JACKSON — Jackson Public Schools apologized Tuesday after content was unintentionally posted on the district’s official Facebook page and removed immediately, district officials said.
The district said the post was taken down as soon as the error was identified and that appropriate steps are being taken to make sure content intended for the district’s official platform is managed separately from personal platforms.
Jackson Public Schools said it cares about broader societal issues and their impact on scholars and communities, but does not take a public stance on political matters and remains a nonpartisan organization. The district apologized to scholars, families, staff and the broader community for what it called a misrepresentation and for any concern it may have caused.
Jackson Public Schools is the public school district that serves the city of Jackson. School districts often rely on official social media accounts to communicate with families and the public, and accidental or inappropriate posts can prompt reviews of procedures for account access and content approval.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
