Como man charged with felony motor vehicle theft in Lafayette County

Deputies with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen vehicle on Sept. 23, 2026, and identified Shaun Boyette, 47, of Como, as a suspect after an investigation.

Boyette was stopped by deputies and arrested Sept. 29 on a misdemeanor controlled-substance possession charge. As investigators obtained additional information, he was charged with felony motor vehicle theft Oct. 1, according to the sheriff’s office.

Boyette was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center. He appeared before a Lafayette County Justice Court judge on Oct. 1 and was issued a $10,000 bond. Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
