The Hattiesburg Police Department is investigating the death of a minor after receiving a call for assistance Sept. 4, 2026, at approximately 9:32 a.m. in the 1000 block of Edwards Street.
Police said Laquita Presley, 37, of Hattiesburg, was arrested and charged with felony child abuse as part of the investigation. The investigation remains ongoing.
No further information is available at this time, according to the department.
