The Hattiesburg Police Department welcomed Officer Elgin Horvath after he was sworn in as a lateral transfer, the department said.
Horvath brings 11 years of law enforcement experience to the department. He previously served with the Jackson Police Department, UMMC Police Department and Southern Miss Police Department.
He is certified as a crisis intervention officer, LEAPS officer and standardized field sobriety testing officer. Horvath was named UMMC’s Top Cop in 2021.
