Greenville police recovered two firearms during a traffic stop involving a brown Nissan Altima near the intersection of Lewis Street and Ely Lane. Officers conducted the stop at approximately 10:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, and said they developed probable cause to investigate the vehicle and its occupants further.
During the investigation, officers recovered a Glock 19 Gen 4 handgun from Julius Dillard. Police said the firearm had what appeared to be a machine gun conversion device, commonly called a “switch.” An additional firearm was recovered from the vehicle’s front passenger area, where Jereme Pickett was seated.
Dillard and Pickett were detained as officers continued investigating the circumstances surrounding the recovered firearms. The Greenville Police Department said information about any applicable charges will be released as appropriate. Both men are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
