Starkville police remind Cotton District visitors about safety zone, clear-bag rule

The Starkville Police Department operates a safety zone and rideshare pickup and drop-off area in the Cotton District on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., according to a department post on Facebook.

Visitors are permitted to bring only clear bags measuring 12 by 6 by 12 inches. The department said the safety measures are designed to support public safety in high-traffic areas.

The rideshare pickup and drop-off location will remain at the same site used since a change made in 2024.
