Pontotoc Electric urges Mississippi customers to conserve energy during lingering heat

Pontotoc Electric Power Association is urging customers to monitor their energy use as hot weather continues in Mississippi during the transition to fall.

The association recommends setting thermostats a few degrees higher when possible, unplugging devices that are not in use and operating large appliances, including dishwashers and washing machines, at night. It said being mindful of energy consumption could make a difference on customers’ next bills.
