Pontotoc Electric warns about overhead power lines near farm equipment
Pontotoc Electric Power Association is warning farm equipment operators about the risks of grain augers, portable elevators, raised dump beds and irrigation pipe coming near overhead power lines.
The association advises workers to check for overhead lines before moving or setting up tall equipment and to plan a route that keeps machinery clear of the lines. It also cautions operators using GPS auto-steer not to let the technology distract them from watching for overhead power lines.
