Pontotoc Electric Power Association is urging residents to find another place for flyers instead of attaching them to power poles, saying the poles are working equipment that crews rely on for safety.
The association said staples and nails left in poles may come from notices about garage sales, lost dogs or local elections. For linemen climbing the poles, however, those fasteners can snag gloves or tear sleeves, creating a safety hazard.
