Olive Branch officer Michael Collier promoted to patrol lieutenant

Olive Branch leadership recognized Officer Michael Collier’s promotion to patrol lieutenant with the Olive Branch Police Department. Mayor Ken Adams, the Board of Aldermen and Police Chief Carlos E. Garcia took part in the recognition.

Collier was born in Memphis in 1981 and has been a DeSoto resident throughout his life. He graduated from the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officer Training Academy in January 2009 and began his law enforcement career with the Olive Branch Police Department.

During his career, Collier has served as a field training officer, DUI officer, SWAT team member, firearms instructor and less-lethal instructor. He also earned certifications in several law enforcement areas, including first-line leadership and supervision.

Collier returned to the Olive Branch Police Department in 2022, bringing nearly two decades of law enforcement experience back to the community. In his new role, he is expected to expand his leadership within the department while continuing work involving community service and public safety.
