Mississippi agriculture agency marks National Rice Month

The Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce is marking National Rice Month by highlighting the state’s rice farmers and promoting ways to buy Mississippi-grown products.

The agency said rice is planted in spring and harvested in late summer and fall. It directed consumers to an online directory to find a local rice farmer and support Mississippi agriculture.
