The Gulfport Police Department marked the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks by remembering those who died and honoring the courage and sacrifice of first responders, military members and ordinary Americans in the days that followed.
The department also remembered the heroes who ran toward danger, the families who lost loved ones and the strength shown by a nation that came together after the tragedy.
The observance also highlighted support for Gulfport police officers and staff. The Women of Wisdom, Chick-fil-A, Domino’s and Coca-Cola provided lunch for all department staff, according to the department.
The department thanked the organizations for their kindness and support.
