Pontotoc Electric Power Association marked the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks by remembering those who died and honoring first responders who ran toward danger.
The association also reflected on the unity that carried the nation through what it described as its darkest days, concluding its message: “We will never forget.”
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
