National Weather Service shares flood safety guidance during Deaf Awareness Week

The U.S. National Weather Service in Memphis shared flooding and flash-flooding safety guidance as part of Deaf Awareness Week, including a video with American Sign Language and captions.

The guidance urges people to turn around rather than drive through water covering a road and warns drivers not to go around barricades. Six inches of fast-moving water can knock a person over, while 12 inches can carry away a car, according to the post.
