Hot conditions expected, with drier air to lower heat index readings

Temperatures are expected to approach the triple digits in some areas this afternoon, bringing another hot day. People planning to spend long periods outside are advised to take plenty of care.

Relatively drier air is expected to move in from the east over the next few days, limiting humidity’s impact and resulting in lower heat index readings. Temperatures will still be rather hot for mid-September.
