Heat index values expected near 105 degrees today and Tuesday

Peak heat index values are expected to be near 105 degrees today and Tuesday, according to the US National Weather Service Jackson Mississippi.

Prolonged outdoor activities could lead to heat exhaustion. The weather service advises people to stay cool and hydrated.
