Heat index values approaching 105 degrees expected in parts of Mississippi

Limited heat stress conditions are expected across western and northern portions of the area, generally along and north of the Natchez Trace corridor, according to the US National Weather Service Jackson Mississippi.

Peak heat index values are expected to approach 105 degrees. People who are outdoors are advised to take breaks and stay hydrated.
