The Tupelo Fire Department congratulated Captain Clay Curtis on reaching a retirement milestone, thanking him for his leadership and service at the firehouse.
The department said Curtis led from the front, helped keep his crew safe and left the firehouse better than he found it. It also said his leadership would live on through the firefighters he shaped.

The message closed by telling Curtis to enjoy retirement and saying, “Your shift is officially covered.”
