Ole Miss tied for 12th after opening round at Inverness Intercollegiate

The No. 19 Ole Miss men’s golf team finished the opening round of the Inverness Intercollegiate tied for 12th in Toledo, Ohio, with a team score of 15-over 299.

Iowa was the only team to finish under par, shooting 1-under 283. Cooper Claycomb, making his Ole Miss debut, was the Rebels’ top finisher. He opened with a birdie on the second hole, added another on No. 14 and finished tied for eighth at even par, three shots off the lead.

Freshman Tomas Restrepo also made his collegiate debut, finishing tied for 37th after a 4-over 75. Eduardo Matarazzo was tied for 51st with a 5-over 76.

Collins Trolio recorded a birdie on the fifth hole and finished at 6-over par, while Finn Meister made a birdie on the back nine and closed at 7-over par.

Ole Miss will return for the second round at Inverness Golf Club. ESPN+ will carry coverage from noon to 4 p.m. CT.
