Ole Miss soccer falls 3-0 at Auburn

Ole Miss soccer lost to Auburn 3-0 at the Auburn Soccer Complex. Auburn took the lead in the 30th minute when Gracie Brown scored on an assist from Kelly Gordon, marking Brown’s second goal of the season.

The Tigers extended their advantage less than six minutes later as Grace Ivey scored off a pass from Layla Sirdah. Auburn led 2-0 at halftime. Kennedy Husbands added the final goal at 55:23 for her first of the season.

Ole Miss produced three shots, with one each from Alena Watts, Ava Ghoreishi and Teaghan Irvin. Watts took the Rebels’ only shot in the first half, while Ghoreishi and Irvin added attempts after halftime.

Auburn held an 18-3 edge in shots, put six attempts on goal and led 8-3 in corner kicks. Anna Claire Jacobi played all 90 minutes in goal for Ole Miss and made three saves.

Ole Miss, which is 7-3-0 overall and 0-2-0 in SEC play, returns home Thursday, Sept. 24, to host Vanderbilt at Ole Miss Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.
