Jackson State athletics schedule includes home conference openers

Jackson State athletics has a busy week scheduled, with home events in football, soccer, softball and volleyball, along with golf and cross country competitions away from Jackson.

Men’s and women’s golf open the week Monday, September 21, at the Thomas W. Dortch HBCU Golf Classic at Bears Best Golf Club in Suwanee, Georgia. Both teams are scheduled to wrap up play Tuesday, September 22.

On Friday, September 25, cross country competes in the Warhawk Invitational in Sterlington, Louisiana. The event is hosted by ULM. In Jackson, volleyball opens conference play against Prairie View A&M at 3 p.m., while softball begins its fall schedule with the annual Blue & White Game at 3 p.m.

Softball continues Saturday, September 26, with games against Co-Lin at 9 a.m. and East Central CC at 11:15 a.m. in Brandon, Mississippi. Football opens conference play at home against Southern at 6 p.m. in Jackson.

The weekend concludes Sunday, September 27, with volleyball hosting Texas Southern at noon and soccer opening conference play at home against Southern at 2 p.m. Both events are in Jackson.
