Delta State falls to Central Missouri 59-10

Delta State lost 59-10 to the University of Central Missouri on Saturday night at Audrey J. Walton Stadium in Warrensburg, Missouri. Central Missouri scored twice in the opening quarter and led 31-7 at halftime.

The Mules finished with 674 yards of offense, including 460 passing, while holding Delta State to 146 total yards. Central Missouri quarterback Jordan Pachot threw for 391 yards and four touchdowns and added a rushing score. Marlon Lindsey caught two touchdown passes in the first quarter as Central Missouri took a 14-0 lead.

Delta State scored on a 90-yard kickoff return by Jekerious Williams in the second quarter. Price Nixon made a 44-yard field goal in the fourth quarter for the Statesmen’s final points.

Rickie Davis Jr. led Delta State with 17 total tackles, and Tavian Moore had 15 stops. Central Missouri controlled possession for more than 36 minutes.

Delta State will continue non-conference play next Saturday at 6 p.m. Central time against Mississippi Valley State in the Delta Classic.
