Reeves welcomes youth camp to Governor’s Mansion

Gov. Tate Reeves said in a Facebook post that he welcomed campers from the Mississippi Central State Trooper Coalition Youth Camp to the Governor’s Mansion in Jackson.

Reeves described the group as an “incredible” collection of young people who he said will “go on to do great things for our state,” and added that Mississippi’s future is bright. The comments appeared on his official Facebook page.

The Mississippi Central State Trooper Coalition Youth Camp is organized by a regional coalition of law enforcement and brings young people together for mentoring, leadership and educational activities. Youth camps run by law enforcement agencies are commonly used to build relationships between officers and communities and to develop civic and leadership skills among participants.

Hosting the camp at the Governor’s Mansion offers an opportunity for state leaders to recognize youth programs and highlight public-private partnerships aimed at workforce development and community engagement. Details about the visit, including the number of campers or the schedule of events, were not included in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
