Reeves welcomes SEARUC to Mississippi Gulf Coast
Gov. Tate Reeves wrote on Facebook that he welcomed SEARUC to Mississippi and said the state is “honored to host regulators from across the Southeast on our beautiful Gulf Coast.”
Reeves posted that he “enjoyed welcoming SEARUC to Mississippi” and that the gathering comes at a time when the state has “unprecedented momentum.” The post said participants will work together to “help power the next generation of America’s economy.”
SEARUC is a regional association composed of state utility and regulatory officials from across the Southeast who typically meet to discuss policy, coordination and challenges affecting utilities and infrastructure in the region. Hosting such gatherings places Mississippi’s Gulf Coast in the center of regional policy conversations and can give state officials opportunities to showcase local developments to visiting regulators.
State-hosted meetings of regulators can influence discussions about energy, telecommunications and infrastructure planning, areas that affect consumers and businesses. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
