Reeves highlights Mississippi Momentum with State Chamber

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves said in a Facebook post Wednesday that telling the story of the state’s “Mississippi Momentum” presents an opportunity to continue growing the economy through conservative policy, effective implementation and increased accountability.

Reeves said he enjoyed highlighting what it took to deliver what he described as Mississippi’s nation-leading education gains with representatives of The State Chamber. The post also noted that Oklahoma recently passed legislation similar to Mississippi’s, a point Reeves used to underline regional interest in the approach.

Reeves is Mississippi’s governor; The State Chamber is a business advocacy group that often works with state leaders on economic and education initiatives. State-level education outcomes and policy choices are closely watched because they can affect workforce development, business recruitment and long-term economic growth.

The post was brief and did not provide additional details on next steps or specific legislation. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
