Reeves highlights Mississippi partnership with South Korea

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves posted on Facebook saying the United States and South Korea are two of the world’s greatest manufacturing and innovation economies and that “the best days of the Mississippi–Republic of Korea partnership are in front of us.”

Reeves posted photographs and included U.S. and South Korea flag emojis alongside his message. His post also referenced the International Trade Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The remarks underscore ongoing efforts by state leaders to deepen economic and trade ties with foreign partners. South Korea is a major global manufacturing and technology economy and a significant source of foreign investment, trade experts say.

Mississippi officials have in recent years emphasized attracting international investment and expanding export opportunities to support jobs and economic growth across the state. Strengthened ties with South Korean businesses could affect sectors such as manufacturing, technology and supply chains.

Details about specific projects or meetings tied to Reeves’ post were not included. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
