Reeves congratulates South Central Regional Medical Center internal medicine residents
Gov. Tate Reeves on his Facebook page congratulated South Central Regional Medical Center’s newest class of internal medicine residents and thanked them for stepping up to serve the state, saying their work is vital to Mississippi’s health care system.
The post, which included a stethoscope emoji, was posted on Reeves’ official Facebook account. It did not provide additional details about the size of the class or the start date for the residency program.
South Central Regional Medical Center is a hospital that serves communities in south Mississippi. Internal medicine residency programs train physicians to care for adult patients and are a key part of preparing doctors to work in hospitals, clinics and other care settings across the state.
The governor’s message highlights ongoing attention to the health care workforce in Mississippi and the importance of retaining and training physicians for regional needs. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
