Greenville announces Mayor’s Blues Reception for Sept. 17, 2026

The Mayor’s Blues Reception is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, at the Downtown Greenville Waterfront in Greenville, Mississippi, according to the City of Greenville, Mississippi – Government.

Clinton Babers is set to perform live in concert at the reception. The event is being presented as a celebration of the blues’ legacy, music, heritage and the people of the Mississippi Delta.

Mayor Errick D. Simmons and blues enthusiasts are expected to use the reception to begin the celebration of the 49th Annual Mississippi Delta Blues and Heritage Festival. The announcement described the gathering as bringing music, energy, culture and soul to the downtown waterfront.
