Vicksburg Police change Facebook cover photo

The Vicksburg Police Department updated its cover photo on its official Facebook page, according to a post on the department’s account. The change is visible to followers and to users who visit the department’s social media profile.

Local police departments commonly use Facebook and other social platforms to share safety information, public-service announcements, event photos and community outreach messages. The Vicksburg Police Department, which provides law enforcement services for the city of Vicksburg, Mississippi, has maintained a social media presence to communicate with residents and visitors.

While a cover photo change can be purely aesthetic, it can also accompany broader communication efforts such as awareness campaigns, memorials, community events or public information. The department did not provide further details in the post about the reason for the new image.

We will provide more information as it becomes available.
