Mississippi Emergency Management Agency posts Facebook cover photo

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency posted a cover photo on its official Facebook page, the agency’s social media account shows.

MEMA is the state’s emergency management agency responsible for coordinating preparedness, response and recovery activities during disasters and severe weather. State emergency management agencies commonly use social media platforms to share safety information, preparedness tips and real-time alerts with residents.

The agency’s presence on Facebook and other platforms can help reach residents quickly during hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding and other emergencies that affect Mississippi. Officials often use those channels to direct people to verified resources, shelter information and instructions during active incidents.

Members of the public who follow the agency’s page can expect official updates and notices there; residents who prefer other channels should consult local media and emergency alert systems maintained by county and state authorities. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
