Starkville church presents cowbell to police corporal

First Baptist Church in Starkville presented Corporal Kenya Bibbs of the Starkville Police Department with a custom cowbell this week in appreciation of her help with Vacation Bible School, the department said in a Facebook post.

The post said Bibbs helped keep traffic moving safely each morning and spent time talking with children and families. It added that she brought a smile, a great attitude and a commitment to serving others each day.

The Starkville Police Department provides law enforcement services for Starkville, Mississippi, and often works with local organizations during community events. Vacation Bible School is a common summer program offered by churches that typically includes activities and lessons for children and requires adult volunteers and safety measures such as traffic control.

The recognition highlights ongoing efforts by local law enforcement and faith-based groups to work together and ensure safe, welcoming programs for children. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
