Southaven police seek man wanted on 10 burglary warrants

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. — The Southaven Police Department is asking the public to help locate a man wanted on multiple burglary warrants, officials said Thursday.

Police identified the suspect as 34-year-old Darcell Marquis Wells and said he has 10 active warrants for burglary of a dwelling. Authorities described Wells as a black man, 6 feet 3 inches tall, about 180 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair, and said they have received information indicating he may be homeless.

Officials warned members of the public not to approach Wells if he is seen and asked anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact local law enforcement or submit a tip through the nearest police agency. Southaven is a suburb of Memphis in DeSoto County, Mississippi. Burglary of a dwelling generally refers to unlawful entry of a residence and is treated as a serious crime. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
