Sheriff Jones welcomes residents to Pike County, Mississippi

Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones said in a Facebook post that he welcomes people to Pike County, Mississippi, and that “protecting our citizens is our number one priority.”

The message, posted by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Public Relations Department, is part of the agency’s public outreach on social media. The post included the department’s signature hashtag, #TeamWallyJones, used for community engagement and branding.

Pike County is in southwestern Mississippi and includes the city of McComb. Like sheriff’s offices across the country, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office handles patrol, investigations, jail operations and court security, and uses public messaging to inform and reassure residents about safety priorities.

Local law enforcement agencies frequently use platforms such as Facebook to reach residents quickly and to highlight their focus on public safety. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
