Scott County Sheriff’s Office offers free mobile app
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office said on its Facebook page that it now offers a free mobile app for residents to download. The post said features include arrest alerts, severe weather alerts and other notifications intended to help people stay in touch and up to date.
The post also said the production of the app came at no cost to taxpayers and encouraged residents to give it a try. The office did not provide additional technical details or specify platforms in the post.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is the county’s primary law enforcement agency and is responsible for public safety, patrol duties, investigations and community outreach. Law enforcement agencies increasingly use mobile apps and digital communications to share timely information, coordinate emergency alerts and improve community engagement.
While the office did not provide a full list of functions, such apps typically allow users to receive real-time alerts and official notifications from the sheriff’s office. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
